These are the ground rules for using Stickwise. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. They're written to be read, not skimmed — it takes two minutes.

1. What Stickwise is

Stickwise gives you flashcards, revision notes, practice marking, quiz games and classes built around GCSE exam-board specifications. It's a study aid. It doesn't replace your teacher, your textbook or the exam board's own materials, and we can't promise any particular grade — that part is down to you. Courses cover the exam-board content we say they cover; where a course offers options (for example set texts or geography topics), the app lets you choose the ones your school teaches.

2. Your account

• You need to be 13 or over, or have a parent or guardian set up and manage the account for you.
• Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
• Pick a username that's fine for other students to see. We may change or remove usernames that are offensive, impersonate someone, or break these rules.
• One account per person. You can delete your account at any time.

3. Playing fair

Games, classes and scoreboards only work if everyone plays honestly. Don't use bots, scripts, multiple accounts or other tricks to inflate scores or ratings, and don't harass other players. We may reset scores or ratings, remove published decks, or close accounts that do. Ranked ratings are only shown when ranked play is switched on for the site.

4. Our content

The flashcards, notes, diagrams, marking schemes and software in Stickwise are ours (or used with permission). You can use them for your own studying, including on multiple devices. You can't copy them in bulk, scrape them, resell them or republish them as your own. Exam-board specifications belong to the exam boards; we write our own material to cover them.

5. Your content

Cards and decks you write stay yours. By adding them to Stickwise you let us store them and show them back to you, to anyone you share a game with, and, if you publish a deck to the community, to everyone. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share, or anything unlawful, abusive or aimed at another person. We may remove published decks that break these rules.

6. Marking

Typed answers are marked by our own rules against the mark-scheme key terms and, when the smart examiner is switched on, by an AI examiner as well. It's useful, but it isn't a real examiner and can occasionally be wrong. Treat marks as guidance, and use the simpler answers and notes to check your understanding. You can always tell the app you disagree with a mark.

7. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Stickwise up, but it's provided "as is" — sometimes it will be down for updates or because of things outside our control. We add, change and occasionally remove features, courses and cards as exam specifications change. If we ever had to close the service we'd give reasonable notice and a way to export your own cards.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under law that can't be limited. Beyond that, we're not liable for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms, or that come from using Stickwise for anything other than personal study.

9. Privacy

How we look after your information is covered in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. The legal bit

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we update them in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app; the date at the top shows the current version. Questions: alexenquiries1@gmail.com.
